TUCSON, Ariz. - A brush fire is visible in the Catalina Mountains that sparked Thursday night.

Officials have updated the fire and it is approximately 75 percent contained.

Officials say smoke is no longer visible from Mercer fire.

Rural Metro Fire says firefighters responded to the report but found the fire is in the Coronado Forest jurisdiction.

The fire is 25 acres in size and is burning buffelgrass in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness north of Melpomene road.

"The spread potential is currently low as the crews on the ground are making good progress suppressing the fire," said Christina Pearson with the Coronado National Forest.
