The U.S. Forest Service is mopping up the Salto Fire northeast of town.
According to department representative Heidi Schewel, the fire did not threaten any structures.
The fire is at 60 acres.
Two helicopters, three fire engines, a water tender and a hand crew were called into the firefighting effort.
Motorists and hikers are asked to avoid the area.
