TUCSON, Ariz. — A fire burned three acres in the Santa Catalina Mountains Monday, and the U.S. Forest Service says it was caused by humans.

It happened near the Gordon Hirabayashi Campground, which sits just off the Catalina Highway. The fire happened at a lower elevation in the Catalinas, where there is no snow.

According to a Facebook post from the Forest Service, the fire was contained quickly by Monday afternoon.

The Forest Service also says the fire was human caused, as there was no lightning activity in the area. Officials say its a reminder that even when its not considered "fire season," campers need to be cautious and make sure all campfires are properly contained and completely extinguished before leaving the area.
