TUCSON, Ariz. — A federal grant could be used to support Arizona fire departments and first responders.
To apply for the money, fire departments, EMS organizations and fire training academies should go to grants.gov.
Funds would be used expressly used for safety equipment and training.
Senator Kyrsten Sinema encouraged Arizona organizations to apply, saying in a statement, "Today’s federal funding opportunity will help train our firefighters and better protect Arizona communities.”
The funding comes from FEMA as part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Applications close March 13, 2020.
Applicants can also call Senator Sinema's office for additional assistance.
