FC Tucson announced Wednesday that they will play Phoenix Rising FC and the University of Arizona men's soccer team in an exhibition game.
The match will feature players from each level of competition: collegiate, semi-pro, and pro.
“I think this is a great opportunity for soccer fans to be able to enjoy three teams at the cutting edge of their respective levels of soccer,” FC Tucson head coach Jon Pearlman said.
Phoenix Rising FC has three major international stars on their team. Omar Bravo played in the World Cup for Mexico. Shaun Wright-Phillips has played internationally for England. Didier Drogba represented the Ivory Coast in the World Cup.
Drogba also lead Chelsea in scoring and to a UEFA champions league title.
The game will take place at Kino North Stadium on Saturday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m.
"This is an unparalleled opportunity for my guys to not only test their skill against international stars but to enjoy the entire experience of playing against the best in a big-time atmosphere," Eric Rhodes, UofA's head coach said. "Our thanks to FC Tucson and Rising FC for inviting us to be a part of this celebration of the game in Arizona."
