The FBI is investigating an assault on a federal officer that happened North of Globe, just off the San Carlos Reservation Saturday.
According to FBI Phoenix, around 2:00 a.m. officers were searching for the suspect who fired shots at a forest service employee in Forest Lakes, AZ on July 4th.
They came across an individual who shot at them. Officers fired back and killed the suspect.
The FBI has identified the suspect as 32-year-old Luis Francisco Vasquez.
The FBI has determined that this is the same individual who allegedly shot at a U.S. Forest Service employee in Forest Lakes, Arizona, on July 4, 2017.
No officers were injured.
