Fatal hit and run crash near 22nd Street and Alamo Avenue

TPD responded to a deadly hit-and-run on Thursday morning involving a bicyclist.

The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. at the 6000 block of East 22nd Street, near South Alamo Avenue.

Officers say the car involved fled from the scene eastbound.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead on scene.

The bicyclist was identified as 46-year-old Anthony Branden Sipes. Next of kin was notified.

According to TPD, Sipes was riding his bicycle eastbound on 22nd Street in the bicycle lane when he was hit from behind by the suspect car.

Sipes had a light affixed to the front of his bicycle and he was also wearing a bright neon-colored shirt.

Officers believe that the suspect vehicle is a 2008-2014 Cadillac CTS sedan or coupe.
