MARANA, Ariz.- Marana Police Department received multiple false reports of an active shooter situation at Tucson Premium Outlet Mall.
Counter Narcotics Alliance and Pima Regional SWAT Team were on hand to arrest five suspects in the east side parking lot.
During the arrest, a "flash bang" was used by Pima Regional SWAT Team, which led many to believe shots were being fired.
Flash bangs, or stun grenades, are typically used by SWAT teams to temporarily blind and deafen suspects with extremely bright flashes of light and loud banging noises.
In a post on their Facebook page Town of Marana denied this saying, "No firearms were discharged during the arrest and the public was not in any danger during this incident."
