UPDATE: One dead, another seriously injured in Interstate 10 crash at Rita Road

UPDATE (2:53 p.m.)

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a Ford Fiesta was traveling westbound at just before 9 a.m., when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the median and struck an eastbound Chevrolet van.

The driver of the Fiesta, a woman in her 20s, died at the scene, DPS said.

The driver of the van sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Tucson hospital, the news release said.

UPDATE (11:55 a.m.)

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 have reopened at Rita Road in Tucson, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
