TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Dining out in downtown Tucson will soon be safer and more comfortable thanks to a new initiative from the Downtown Tucson Partnership.
The DTP announced Tuesday plans to distribute 40 outdoor heaters and fuel to 23 businesses in the downtown area. The heaters -- which produce a flame in a glass tube -- aim to incentivize safe dining outdoors while still creating an appealing ambiance, the DTP said.
“Our goal is to help the businesses maximize their outdoor spaces, while improving the aesthetics downtown throughout the winter/spring season," Kathleen Eriksen, President & CEO of the DTP, said in a news release Tuesday.
The heaters are sponsored by HSL properties, the news release said, and will be distributed to businesses on Tuesday and Wednesday.
