A Vail man charged with killing his wife, teenage daughter and attempting to kill his teenage son made his initial court appearance Friday.

Hernando Enriquez was released from the hospital this morning, one week after the gruesome crime was reported by his surviving son.

Enriquez is being held without bond.

Pima County Sheriffs are investigating a double homicide near Sahuarita Rd. and Highway 83 in Vail.

According to Cody Gress with PCSD, deputies responded to reports of an aggravated assault in the 3200 block of E. Calle Agassiz just after 4:00 p.m. Friday. A male victim with serious injuries ran to a neighboring home and made the initial call.

The victim was able to give deputies an idea of where the suspect might be and was then transported to a nearby hospital.

Deputies entered a home in the 400 block of North Tomasita and found two females dead inside.

PCSD then located the male suspect, 44-year-old Hernando Enriquez, who was found facedown with wounds of his own. He is now in custody.

Officials say Enriquez was charged with the murder of his wife, 43-year-old Sandra Enriquez, and his daughter, 15-year-old Isabelle Enriquez. He was also charged with the attempted murder of his son.
