TUCSON, Ariz. — A 55-year-old Tucson woman was indicted this week for the murders of her twin grandsons.

Dorothy Flood is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her 8-year-old grandsons, who had autism and were nonverbal.

It happened on April 5, when paramedics came upon the grisly scene. While reviving Flood, who had overdosed on an unknown prescription medication, they found the two boys in separate rooms, shot multiple times.

According to search warrants, investigators also found a gun and ammunition in the home. A family member told investigators that Flood had told her the boys "had become too much for her, especially in the last six weeks," as the boys had been having trouble sleeping.
