Don't fall for "Black Money" scam

PHOENIX (KGUN9-TV) - A lot of scams depend on victims falling for rip-offs they should have seen through in the first place.

That applies to the Arizona Attorney General’s warning about a “Black Money” scam.

The scam artists convince victims black construction paper made to feel like paper money really is paper money stained black.  They talk people into buying a very expensive fluid that’s supposed to remove the stain so the money can be used; and sometimes create a convincing demonstration where a stain is removed from genuine paper money.

But the fluid is just Vitamin C and water, the stack of “black money” is just black construction paper, and the scam artists disappear with the real cash the victim paid out.

Now Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is looking for six people in connection with the “Black Money” scam: Diamond Prempeh, Mousa Toure, Angel Latrice Cowen, Samuel S. Johnson, Michael Gray (a/k/a Kennah Morris) and Ali V. Konneh.
