Disadvantaged Tucson Unified School District students are getting a new pep in their step.
The Educational Enrichment Foundation is hosting their annual spring shoe shopping days.
Select students from TUSD schools are taken to Payless to pick out a new pair of shoes and some socks.
"These are kids who sometimes only get one new pair of shoes a year," Pam Francis, executive director of the program said.
In addition to the new socks and shoes, the children get to leave with a big eegee's cookie.
