TUCSON, Ariz. — Hackers may have compromised the credit card and personal information for thousands of Arizonans.
50 locations including restaurants, hotels, and other businesses are reporting a data breach. Many business owners just found out they've been hacked.
“It's not on our machine alone, it had nothing to do with our employees, our machines or anything like that” said Frog & Firkin Owner Jody Raetzman. “It is a processor where the information goes to the bank.”
Raetzman says it happened between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. on January 4th.
“I know probably many students were still on break. A quieter time for us thankfully. We never want any of our customers effected and we are constantly keeping up on updating our processors and updating our equipment.”
Dozens of Arizona businesses and a handful of Tucson locations are affected by the North Country Business Products breach. Tucson locations also include the Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch, Karichimaka, Tucson Truck Terminal, and the Voyager RV Resort.
Raetzman says so far no one has reported any actual misuse of their data.
“Hopefully this did not directly affect any of our costumers, but the information will be on our social media and our website for any information.”
