TUCSON, Ariz. - Road crews shifted traffic in a major southside construction project Tuesday.
According to the Tucson Department of Transportation, Valencia Road traffic will shift.
Valencia Road will now reopen east of Kolb road, so vehicles will be able to turn left from southbound Kolb Road to eastbound Valencia Road.
Vehicles driving on Valencia Road will east and west of Kolb Road will shift to different travel lanes -- westbound traffic on the north side of Valencia and eastbound traffic on the south side of Valencia.
The traffic shift will stay in place until the project wraps up at the end of July.
Traffic is restricted to one lane in both directions.
The project will add new bike lanes, sidewalks, drainage, lighting, traffic signals and landscaping.
