TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A wrong-way wreck slowed traffic on eastbound Interstate 10 east of town Tuesday.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the crash blocked all lanes for a period. The road has since reopened.
A wrong-way driver going westbound on eastbound I-10 hit an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper head-on near Alvernon. The trooper suffered minor injuries.
The alleged wrong-way driver, 42-year-old Carlos Madril, was allegedly impaired and driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen. He was booked into Pima County Jail. No bond had been set as of Tuesday morning.
