TUCSON, Ariz. - The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is warning people not to fall for a scam involving vehicle sales on eBay.
According to the office, a Hereford resident found a truck for sale on the online auction site. The person who posted the ad said the vehicle was in Nebraska and would ship it for free to Cochise County once it was paid for.
The resident reported the incident to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office. Detectives found that the email address connected to the account originated from other countries and was involved in fake auto sales.
Those who find online scams can report them to the Arizona Attorney General's office at 294-6655.
