DOUGLAS, Ariz. — Cochise County is teaming up with an Arizona engineering firm to help solve drainage problems in a neighborhood near Douglas.

The Bay Acres neighborhood was built in the 1960's, before counties were able to review new housing developments. As a result, there was no solid plan to deal with runoff from rainwater in the neighborhood and it's had flooding problems ever since.

Now, Cochise county is moving forward with a $78,000 agreement with Tucson based engineering firm, JE Fuller, to re-design drainage in the neighborhood and stop decades-old flooding problems.

No word yet when the planning will begin on this project.
