Sometimes the smallest of gestures can speak volumes. For a high school football team in California, orange roses sent the message of support.

In early August, Ashley Adamietz was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, according to KRCR. The teen has been going through daily chemotherapy treatments.

Before the start of the football game on Friday night, each player on the 57 member football team laid an orange rose at the feet of the Foothill High School senior cheerleader.

According to KRCR, the plan was organized by senior football player Ryan Caetano but the entire football team was behind the idea.

Orange is the designated color for leukemia awareness.
