Cereal drive hauls in more than 92,000 servings

TUCSON, Ariz. - Carondelet Health Network’s annual Healthy Over Hungry cereal drive collected more than 92,000 servings of breakfast foods benefiting the community food bank of Southern Arizona.

Team Captain of the Carondelet Wellness committee Rebecca Engel said “we are grateful for many community members and businesses that stepped up to donate healthy cereal in the drop off boxes at our hospitals.”

The drive was June 7-14.

Around 150,000 people in Pima County experience food shortages, and the poverty rate in Santa Cruz County is 25 percent.

The Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive is supported by Carondelet Health Network. Last year the organization collected five million servings of cereal and donated $380,000 through efforts across the U.S.
