U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped two attempts to smuggle five illegal immigrants through the United States over the weekend.
According to CBP, a canine detected an odor from a Dodge Caravan that led agents to find three men under the van's floorboard.
A second smuggling attempt using a Nissan Maxima was stopped Sunday evening by agents. After opening the trunk, two men were found inside.
The drivers were a 55-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, both U.S. citizens. They were arrested for smuggling illegal immigrants.
The five Mexican nationals found ranged in ages from 21-35 years old. They are now being processed for immigration violations.
