Carondelet will open a new micro-hospital at a Marana Commercial Center.

The new micro-hospital will include a 14-bed emergency department, and two operating rooms.

Carondelet said the hospital will focus on emergency procedures, and less complex inpatient procedures.

“The Marana facility will offer a patient-friendly design with emergency and acute care services in an efficient, convenient location," said Carondelet Market CEO Mark Benz. "It’s designed to provide close integration with our other facilities for patients who may require more complex care.”

The hospital's emergency department will be open 24/7.

Carondelet's new location will also create about 50 full-time jobs.

The micro-hospital is expected to be finished in spring of 2019.

The hospital is part of a larger commercial center being constructed near the intersection of I-10 and Cortaro Farms.

Project officials said the site will also have a medical office building, a Dutch Bros. Coffee, and a Serial Grillers.

They are working on leasing to another restaurant, a hotel, and a large regional retailer.
