A candle has been ruled as the cause of an overnight house fire that displaced a 65-year-old woman, according to the Tucson Fire Department.
Capt. Andy Skaggs, a spokesman for the department said they received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting smoke and flames coming from a home in the 1000 block of West Colorado Street just before 3 a.m.
Officers from the Tucson Police Department saw the smoke while on patrol and were the first to call it in.
Skaggs said as the resident saw the fire begin to spread out of control, she evacuated the home and went to her neighbor's house to call 9-1-1.
The first TFD unit on scene reported the house to be fully involved with fire showing from all sides of the residence.

Multiple crews then used hose lines in coordination to knock the fire down.
A total of 12 units and 26 firefighters responded to the scene and were able to control the fire 20 minutes after arriving.
Skaggs said no firefighters were injured nor the woman who escaped from her home.
The woman will be receiving help from the Red Cross.
Investigators determined that the fire started in the bedroom of the home from a candle.
There is not yet an estimate of damages.
