TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Rodeo is a great place to take your kids, but for those with extended stays in hospitals, they miss out on all of the excitement. So the Rodeo brought rodeo clowns to Tucson Medical Center's pediatric unit to bring the little one's some cheer.

"The kids can't come to the rodeo, so we want to bring it to them and tell them what a good experience the rodeo is here in Tucson," said Wacey Munsell, Tucson Rodeo Clown

Munsell has been a professional clown for 16 years. He's been with the Tucson rodeo for 13.

"Our job is just basically to give the kids a day away from their room, you know. Tell them about the rodeo and tell them about what we do and how fun our job is and things like that," said Munsell

Arts and crafts, giving autographs, and executing tricks; the rodeo clowns were able to bring smiles and laughter to the kids and their families.

"Very, very thankful definitely. I haven't been to that many rodeos and I'm always in the stands. So to actually get to interact with the performers is amazing. This is really cool and a great experience for me and my daughter," said Brain Talvy.

But through all the souvenir hats and rope tricks, the families said most important, is the time spent with these kids who wouldn't otherwise get to experience the Tucson staple that is La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros.

This was the first time rodeo clowns visited TMC.
