The boyfriend of a young woman who was shot and killed six years ago has now been indicted in her death.
That's according to Ward 6 city council member Steve Kozachik.
Court records show Ronald Corbin Jr. told police he'd had a few beers and was holding his gun when it accidentally went off.
The bullet hit Genna Ayup in the head.
Less than two months after her death the Pima County Attorney's office dropped the charges.
Back in 2012, the office said they weren't sure they'd be able to convince a jury that Corbin was responsible for Genna's death.
Now, six years later the Pima County Attorney's office has reopened the case.
Corbin was indicted August 28th.
He'll be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
KGUN9 previously incorrectly reported the arraignment date.
