A little boy managed to save his mother last week while she was experiencing a medical emergency.
According to Oro Valley Police, the little boy named Chi was a passenger in the backseat of his car while his mother was driving him to school. During the drive, his mother began suffering an unavoidable medical emergency and fell unconscious.
Chi quickly unbuckled his seat belt, jumped into the front of the car, and began to steer the idling car.
He then yelled for help, alerting construction workers nearby who then ran along side of the car while giving instructions to "step on the left pedal."
The car came to a stop and his mother was attended to by firefighters. She was able to recover.
Chi was given the Chief's, Mayor's and OVPD challenge coin so he may remember the exceptional courage he demonstrated.
