Ben's Bells became the recipient of the 9th sculpture sponsored by locks of love on 4th Avenue Wednesday.

It stems from a tradition in Paris where people place locks on a bridge and then throw the keys into a river to signify their undying love, or in this case, kindness.

"More and more people are recognizing that kindness is not a soft issue to be dealt with after the real problems are solved,” said Jeannette Maré who founded Ben's Bells 14 years ago after the death of her infant son.

“But rather, kindness is the foundation that connects our community so that we can solve problems together. We are so happy and grateful to be part of the Locks of Love installation on 4th Avenue because kindness is love in action" Mare said in a press release.
