SAHUARITA, Ariz. — ASARCO Teamsters rallied together today to address what they say are Labor Law Violations.
For 10 weeks mine workers in Arizona and Texas have been on strike.
Today's rally called on the United States and Mexico.
That's because ASARCO is the Arizona-based mining subsidiary of Mexico's "Grupo Mexico."
Teamsters say workers are on strike because they want better pay, benefits, and work conditions.
Teamsters Local Union 104 Principle officer Karla Schuman said "We want to make sure that asarco gets the message loud and clear. we're out here we are still fighting, we want to bargin we want to get a contract but you know, we arent just going to sit in the desert and play with rocks, kick rocks if you will."
The ASARCO mine is in Sahuarita.
This rally was one of many happening all around the country.
