Arizona Governor, ADHS Director to hold briefing on Coronavirus

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Governor Doug Ducey and Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services Director Dr. Cara Christ are expected to provide an update on COVID-19 Monday afternoon. The two are also expected to address Arizona’s preparedness efforts at the Arizona State Public Health Laboratory in Phoenix.

According to a news release, Governor Ducey and Dr. Christ will be joined by Director of Emergency Management Wendy Smith-Reeve and AHCCCS Director Jami Snyder.

The update is scheduled for 2:30 p.m..

KGUN9 spoke to Senator Martha McSally about the State's preparedness, following the first death from the virus over the weekend. Senator McSally says first and foremost, there is no need to panic. Though she says there is a need to be informed, and with that comes being prepared.

“Don’t panic, but be prepared. Use regular health etiquette. Wash your hands. Cough into your hands or your elbow. If you’re sick stay home,” added McSally.
