PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the agency's director has been visiting with his counterpart in Mexico.
DPS Director Frank Milstead met with Adolfo Garcia Morales, the secretary of public safety for the state of Sonora earlier this week.
Officials say Milstead and Morales met Monday to talk about ongoing efforts to combat violent criminal organizations in both Arizona and Mexico.
They say both sides of the border are most impacted by trafficking of drugs, weapons and humans.
Both officals are looking at how to combine efforts through more training and sharing of intelligence.
