As the process for selecting the next University of Arizona president continues, the Arizona Board of Regents has announced the steps it will take in selecting the best candidate.
The governing body of Arizona's public university system has established presidential search guidelines, which will help in choosing the university's next president. The search guidelines include identifying qualified applicants and having a committee conduct a preliminary assessment of each. The committee will then forward a list of potential candidates to the Arizona Board of Regents, which will review the list and interview the most qualified candidates.
The board will then vote in a public meeting to appoint a new president and enter into contract negotiations with the selected candidate.
The university is seeking public comment throughout the hiring process.
