TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A second woman has emerged claiming domestic abuse at the hands of Orlando Bradford, the former UA football player dismissed from the team when the violence allegations came out.
Bradford was good enough to score three touchdowns in a single game last year. But when a woman leveled a serious charge of domestic violence against Bradford his U of A football career ended in an instant.
Coach Rich Rodriguez says, “We have a rule: Put your hands on a woman, you're done. That's it! Ain't no sit down and talk. If you did it. If you put your hands on a woman, any way, shape or form. You're done. Next...."
Police say Orlando Bradford did admit hurting the woman who filed the first complaint against him including grabbing her by the throat.
A day after Tucson Police arrested Bradford another woman came forward with claims like the first alleged victim.
She described strangulation, bruises, slaps, pulling hair, and injuries that gave her a bloody nose and swollen face.
Police served search warrants on Bradford's house and car. They collected clothes with possible blood stains.
Bradford is still in jail until he comes up with 40 thousand dollars bond.
A woman filed the original complaint on September 14th. She said Bradford was angry because he thought she had scratched his car. That woman said Bradford, hit her, punched her and pulled her hair.
KGUN 9 is not naming the alleged victims unless they choose to waive anonymity.
Investigative documents show a second woman filed a domestic violence claim against Bradford on September 15, one day after the initial charge put Bradford in jail. She claims a history of abuse dating back to January of this year and describes bruises, scratches,bloody noses and strangulation. The second Tucson Police report says Bradford admitting assaulting the victim but denied that he tried to strangle her.
