AmeriCorps members take on community service projects on MLK Day

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Serves members, who are apart of AmeriCorps will be heading out to different organizations throughout Tucson for MLK Day of Service.

This year is the 25th anniversary of MLK Day of Service.

AmeriCorps members use this day to remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This year members will head to the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona, Sonoran Prevention Works, Pueblo Garden, Changemaker High School Iskashitaa Refugee Network.

At the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona, AmeriCorps members will be helping organize and label diapers inside of the facility's warehouse.

At Sonoran Prevention Works members will help put together naloxone kits, at the Pueblo Gardens they will be helping clean up the garden.

Members will be harvesting fruits and vegetables when they head over to help at the Iskashitaa Refugee Network.

AmeriCorps members will also be teaming up with studens from Changemaker High School to clean-up the Swan wash.
