A new study ranks Arizona as the 5th worst state to be a police officer

Some states are great for police officers, others... not so much.

A newly released study by WalletHub ranks the best and worst states to be a police officer across the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

New York state was ranked as the best for police officers in the country, while Arizona ranked 47th in the U.S.

Louisiana was ranked as the worst state to be a police officer, according to the study.

To generate this list, WalletHub calculated a total of 27 different factors across three main subsets: "Opportunity & Competition," "Job Hazards & Protections" and "Quality of Life."
