TUCSON, Ariz. - Eric Zheng, a Tucson native who plays the saxophone, is back from the Yamaha Young Performing Artist competition in Indiana with high honors.
The prestigious program salutes 11 outstanding musicians who focus on jazz, classical and contemporary genres.
Zheng, who attends Northwestern University, says aspiring musicians should commit to their dreams.
"If you have a dream or if you take time for yourself to reflect on the fulfilling things that mean a lot to you," he said, "then you can start to build a direction for yourself."
