TUCSON, Ariz. - Pima County Joint Technical Educational District's Innovation Learning Center announced it will receive a minimum $250,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Tucson.

The club will present the grant to JTED at its 15th annual Tucson Classics Car Show in 2021, when the club celebrates its 100th anniversary. The club will also launch a fundraising event to pay for the grant.

"We dreamed big when we set out to bring JTED Career and Technical Education programs to high school students on Tucson’s Southwest side," said JTED Superintendent and CEO Kathy Prather, in a statement. "But we could never have imagined the unparalleled level of collaboration we’re seeing among builders, developers, school districts, city of Tucson officials, and the Rotary Club of Tucson. Their enthusiastic response to help students succeed in their chosen careers is a great affirmation of our ability to change lives and strengthen our economy."

According to a press release, the club's fundraising efforts could add up to nearly $500,000 for the project, which beat out more than 41 proposals to win the grant.
