Deputies investigate threat to northwest side charter school

TUCSON, Ariz. - Pima County Sheriff's deputies investigated a threat at Legacy Traditional School Wednesday.

According to the department, there was no immediate danger to the school.

Principal Ardemis Martin sent this email to parents:

Dear LTS – Northwest Tucson parents,

This morning, it was brought to our attention that an alleged threat was made to our campus by multiple students. We immediately alerted local police who conducted an investigation.

The alleged students have been identified and are fully cooperating with law enforcement.

Please understand that we take this situation seriously. The safety of our students and staff members is our highest priority. Any student to have made a threat, legitimate or otherwise, faces severe consequences, suspension or expulsion per the school’s disciplinary procedure.

Just as we do here on campus, please remind your children about the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to a teacher or administrator immediately.

No arrests were made and the investigation is continuing.

The K-8 school is located at 3500 W. Cortaro Farms Road.
