TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — The Tucson Jazz Festival is joining the long list of events canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
Organizers say the 2021 festival, planned for late March, was "not worth the risk," of potentially spreading COVID-19.
"We all look forward to the time when we can gather and enjoy live music together, but for now our priority must be the safety and well-being of our community," Khris Dodge, the festival's executive director, said in a statement Wednesday.
The event draws about 15,000 attendees each year to its concerts, the festival said in a statement.
The 2022 festival, planned for Jan. 14-23, will continue as planned.
