TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Sunnyside Unified School District students will stay with full-time remote learning indefinitely.

The district has been taking part in remote learning since November. The plan was to return to hybrid learning Jan. 19.

The board made the decision Tuesday.

"We shared that we will not be reopening for in-person hybrid learning on January 19th as previously planned," a district spokeswoman said in an email. "Our Governing Board has decided to delay in-person hybrid learning until we receive a recommendation from the Pima County Health Department that it is safe to do so. This means we will remain in remote learning for the month of January. A reopening date has not been set."
