PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. — Pima County residents can now view the new data dashboard, which includes a mapping and data tool to stay up-to-date about COVID-19 within the community, Pima County Health Department announced Monday.
Residents can track information by zip code, census tract, municipality or school district, according to PCHD. The dashboard includes five data sets; overall cases and deaths in the county, by zip code, census tract, municipality, and school district. As for geographic data sets, there are multiple subcategories; cumulative cases and cases by date, cumulative deaths and deaths by date, and cases and deaths by gender, age and ethnicity.
"I am thrilled to introduce this important tool, which provides real-time information to the public," Health Department Director Dr. Theresa Cullen said in a statement. "Good, accessible data is the crux of public health and the decisions we make, and I encourage everyone in Pima County to use it to make the best decisions for yourself and your family as this pandemic continues."
The dashboard also helps Pima County's contact tracing efforts, which was made for residents by Maximus Health Services who were hired to conduct contact tracing and investigations. In July, the Pima County Health Department partnered with Maximus Health Services Inc. to expand on local contact tracing efforts.
"We realize that data interpretation is not everyone's strong point," added Cullen. "To make our data as useful as possible, we want people to understand what it means, so we’ve included a User’s Guide to address the most common questions we receive about it."
