PHOENIX - The Phoenix Police Department is asking for help locating a man that reportedly forced his way into an apartment and sexually assaulted a young girl.
The incident happened Friday around 6 a.m. at the home near 7th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Police say the victim’s step-father caught the suspect in the apartment and chased him onto Indian School Road where the suspect was able to get away.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark baseball cap and dark backpack. The suspect appeared to be between the ages of 30 and 50.

Police say the suspect is possibly a transient that has been seen in the area recently. Police identified the victim as a juvenile but did not clarify further on her age.
