Pima County Sheriff's deputies and Drexel Heights Fire District responded to a structure fire in Manzanita Park on West Irvington Place near South Mission Road Wednesday night.
According to a media release by the Drexel Heights Fire Department (DHFD), multiple 911 calls reported the fire a little after 9:30 p.m. and crews arrived on the scene within 5 minutes.
PCSD tells us they found an RV fully engulfed in flames.
DHFD says while crews were putting out the flames, PCSD notified the incident commander that a person may have been trapped inside the RV. Crews searched for a person after extinguishing the fire to find a person dead in the back of the RV.
The identity of the victim has not been released. DHFD and PCSD are currently investigating the cause.
