UPDATE (8:44 a.m., March 2):
Tucson Police have determined the crash that occurred on East Valencia Road that ended with three people dead was the result of a street race.
According to a news release from TPD, A black BMW was racing another car, heading eastbound on Valencia at around 7:16 p.m.
The BMW crashed into a Buick turning left from westbound Valencia Road onto southbound Country Club Road, the news release said.
Of the four people in the BMW, three of them died in the crash, including the driver, 20-year-old Ashtyn Vandersloot, and two passengers, 20-year-old Antonio Olalde and 18-year-old Grace Hobbs.
The fourth person in the BMW, a 19-year-old male, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The 55-year-old female driver of the Buick suffered minor injuries. Tucson Police determined she was not impaired at the time of the crash.
Tucson Police are looking for the vehicle and driver who was racing the BMW at the time of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call, 911 or 88-CRIME.
No citations have been issued. The investigation is ongoing.

The Tucson Police Department (TPD) says one person is dead and another was sent to the hospital with serious injuries following a car crash on the southside.
The collision happened near Valencia and Country Club, where TPD says several vehicles were involved.
