UPDATE (3:40 p.m., August 28):

Tucson Police have identified the man who was shot and killed at the QT gas station in Midtown Tuesday night as 43-year-old Ryan Edward Brean.

According to a news release from TPD, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the QT at 5151 E. Speedway shortly after 8 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found Brean shot behind the business. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were subsequently notified that a 34-year-old man had arrived at an area hospital, who had also been shot.

Detectives determined the shootings were linked. Forensic evidence determined Brean and the male were involved in an altercation prior to the shooting. Gunfire was exchanged.

The male was treated with non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital.

No charges have been filed, but the case will be presented to the Pima County Attorney's Office for review. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME.
