TUCSON, Ariz. — There are two chains in Southern Arizona offering free bagels with the purchase of any item on their menus.
The promotion is for National Bagel Day which is January 15.
Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering a free bagel and Shmear and Bruegger's Bagels is giving customers a free bagel with cream cheese.
Einstein's local locations are open until 4 p.m. and Bruegger's Bagels' local locations close between 3 and 5 p.m.
Bagels arrived in the U.S. in the late 19th century.
The breakfast food was made by hand until the 1960s. That's when the bagel maker was invented.
