Tucson is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Arizona. 

There are a vast number of trails to choose from, both inside city limits, and on the outskirts.

If you're looking to get some fresh air when the temperatures begin to drop, here is five great places to hike in the Tucson area:

Sabino Canyon

  • Home of Bear Canyon Trail and Seven Falls
  • Accessible year-round
  • Great photography location

Tumamoc Hill

  • Located West of "A" Mountain
  • 2.9 miles round trip
  • Paved road all the way up
  • Great view of the City of Tucson
  • One of the few places that permit night hiking

Catalina State Park

  • Located at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains
  • Home of 150 species of birds and 5,000 saguaros
  • Trails for biking and horseback riding

Oracle State Park

  • International Dark Sky Designation
  • 15 miles of trail
  • Peppersauce Campground
  • Located near Biosphere 2

Picacho Peak

  • Located along Interstate 10
  • 3,374 Ft Summit
  • Hiking gloves recommended
