The popular Adult Swim show "Rick and Morty" is returning to Cartoon Network for a fourth season.

The show is centered around cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez, and his adventures with his nervous grandson Morty.

"Rick and Morty" originally premiered on Cartoon network in 2013, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon.

Harmon was the creator of NBC's comedy "Community."

Seasons one and two aired in back-to-back years, but it took nearly two years for producers and animators to start airing season three.

Adult Swim announced Wednesday that the show's fourth season is slated for November of 2019, more than two years after season three's finale.

The teaser trailer gave no indication what could be in store for season four, nor did it outline an exact air date.
