In wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses around the Valley have reduced hours or closed, including some restaurants, bars, movie theaters, casinos, and stores. Some people have had hours cut or jobs lost altogether.

WHO'S HIRING?
Albertsons and Safeway have more than 1,000 openings in Arizona, including cashiers, customer service, delivery drivers, and positions in the deli, bakery, meat, and produce departments, a news release said.
Those interested can apply online at www.careersatsafeway.com or www.albertsonscompanies.com. On Tuesday, March 24 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., hiring managers will conduct on-site interviews at individual stores. Those interested should bring an updated resume.
Fry's Food Stores have nearly 500 openings in Arizona, from hourly entry-level positions to management positions, according to Pam Giannonatti, Kroger corporate affairs manager. She said the company is looking to hire immediately.
Those interested can apply online at Jobs.frysfood.com. Positions include grocery clerk, e-commerce clerk, assistant front end manager, assistant grocery manager, deli manager, assistant producer manager, and certified pharmacy technician.
Because of the recent demand, WinCo has immediate openings as well, according to a note on its website. Positions include grocery lead clerk, cart clerk, freight stocker, cashier, truck driver, warehouse, deli, bakery, and bulk food.

On Instagram, Bashas' said it was also in need of workers. "We need workers. If you're experience cut back hours or closure of your work space, reach out to your local Bashas'. We would love to help bridge the gap for you right now and get you to work," the grocery chain said.

Sprouts has 350 positions to fill in Arizona, including part-time positions and management roles at its stores, distribution center, and support center, a spokesperson said. Those interested have been asked to apply online, sprouts.com/careers, and not directly at the store. You can also text “careers” to 480-800-8056 for more information.
Walmart announced this week that it would add 150,000 temporary part- and full-time positions to its workforce through the end of May to meet demand. Positions include working at Walmart stores, distribution center, fulfillment centers and clubs, a news release said. In Arizona, Walmart is looking to fill 3,700 positions, a spokesperson said.
"These roles will be temporary at first, but many will convert to permanent roles over time. We’ve reached out to industry groups representing restaurants and hospitality to facilitate temporary roles that can be a bridge for their employees during this difficult time," Walmart said in a statement. People can apply at www.walmartcareers.com. Walmart said they've shortened the hiring process from two weeks to 24 hours.
A spokesperson for Amazon said they were looking to fill more than 2,000 part- and full-time positions in Arizona, mostly in their fulfillment centers and delivery. Those interested, can apply at www.amazon.com/jobsnow.
Target also has a handful of open positions at its stores around the Valley, according to its website. A spokesperson told ABC15 that it is offering hours to current employees and is hiring additional employees as needed. You can view open positions at jobs.target.com.
Jet's Pizza said this week that its pizzerias were hiring delivery drivers nationwide. There are two Jet's Pizza locations in Chandler and Phoenix. Those interested should contact the store directly.
Banner Health said it has more than 950 open positions in Arizona, including medical assistants, nurses, janitorial and environmental services, and patient financial services representatives. Those interested can apply at www.bannerhealth.com/careers.
Walgreens said it has nearly 9,500 open positions across the country, including customer service associates, pharmacy technicians, shift leads, and beauty consultants. Those interested can apply at jobs.walgreens.com.
CVS said it has expedited the hiring process in order to fill 32,000 part-time and full-time positions nationwide, including customer service, pharmacists, pharmacist technicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, LVN/LPN/medical assistants, delivery drivers, and warehouse distribution. Those interested can apply at jobs.cvshealth.com
Circle K has more than 1,900 open positions at its Circle K stores in Phoenix, according to its website. Troy Beatty, human service director for the Grand Canyon Division, told ABC15 in an email that there are open part-time and full-time positions at Circle K's 600 stores in Arizona, from customer service representatives and management. He said in his email that the company has also expedited its hiring process.
