FRIED Festival: New Phoenix festival is all about French fries

There is a new festival coming to the Valley and it appears to be drenched almost entirely in fries (and you can probably eat more than six fries in a serving).

The "FRIED French Fry & Music Festival" will have 15 vendors making "mind-blowing" french fry creations, each priced at $2-$3.

We're told to "expect carne asada fries, pizza fries, truffle fries, cheese fries, stir fried fries, BBQ fries, all manner of veggie fries...," according to a news release. That includes waffle fries, crinkle cut fries, shoestring, curly and steak fries, the release said.

There will also be a curated lineup of indie bands and local DJs, musicians and artists, craft beer and lawn games. The music and vendor lineups have not been announced yet.

The festival will be held Saturday, April 20 at Margaret T. Hance Park from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. General admission tickets will be $15 and only sold online, www.friedfestival.com .

It is the latest festival from David Tyda, who also produces the Phoenix Pizza Festival, Downtown Donut Festival and Street Eats Food Truck Festival. Like the Donut Festival, the FRIED festival will benefit Downtown Phoenix Inc.
